Liz -

A tougher day today, I struggled at some points. A morning of excitment for Jack once we told him we were going away for a few days. We then had to try and pack around the excitment (our fault really as we shouldn't have left it till last minute but we didnt want Jack knowing in advance so didnt have much choce in the matter). After a loooooong car journey we finally made it - was supposed to be 2hrs but it took us 4.5hrs instead, got to love traffic hey.

We stopped off for lunch on the way and got Jack a burger king, we went for a plain salad from M&S. I must say this wasn't awful but I sat eating it stairing at a greggs - oh my how I wish I could have had my usual lunch, a chicken slice, bacon & cheese twist and a ham & cheese baguette with a pack of prawn cocktail crisps to go inside. I am aware this is why I am the size I am!

We arrived at the caravan park (not quite Lanzarote but it's also not the 4 walls i've seen for the last few months), and Jack was extemely excited. After I queued for what seemed like eternity to check us in, off to the caravan we went. What Jack didn't know is we were also going to be spending the week with his Aunt, Uncle and his cousins. I wish I had video'd this when they arrived in the caravan he was the most excited i've ever seen him.

We had a wander around the park and visited the arcade (not the best we have ever been to) but the kids enjoyed it.

We had 1 shake before we left this morning, when we got here we realised we didn't have any milk - but we did bring the blender. So whilst we were at the arcade we popped in the shop on site so we could grab some milk and have our second shake. Harry then went off to the local shop to get some bits for dinner for the kids and came back with chips from the fish and chip shop, now these smelt AMAZING and filled the caravan with smells I haven't smelt in a long time, we had to excuse ourselves and stand outside to get away from that initial smell. But we came back in and had our 3rd shake of the day. This was needed today for sure after the long drive and over excitment of Jack.

Here's to a lovely evening playing cards with the adults and then a good nights sleep - fit and fighting for the morning.

Mike -

So today was the start of our holiday. Jack was extremely excited when we explained to him that we were going on holiday for a few days. We packed up and decided to leave earlier and buy him lunch on the way. Burger king i wasn't overly bothered about but the chips that Jack came back with this evening was just too much for me. I had to walk out before i started eating them. I also had a craving for a pint of lager when we got here. But i resisted both temptaions and had 2 more shakes instead. The M and S salad with a french dressing was nice but would have been better with a bit of ham or chicken.

I feel that the next few days will be tougher than i imagined but we know we have the strength to do this. I feel and look so much better. When the kids turned up to the caravan Jack was so excited. He had to go off and punch the air several times and his whole body shook with excitement. He has struggled to settle tonight which i expected but is still stressful to deal with.

Now for a nice evening of adult entertainment whilst we sit in our pyjamas and play cards

Carpe Diem 4L

Phase 2 Update

I have to say that sticking to phase 2 is still presenting a real challenge. Still not quite finding the right balance. Water consumption...
