Mike -

We have been doing this diet for 18 days now. If i was to summarise the experience so far i would say it is tough, it can be really tiring, it needs a lot of deidaction and effort, you have to be ready for the side effects and imagine a life without your favourite food and drink for 56 days. There is a but though. If you can make the sacrifice and get through those first few days it is really rewarding. I feel healthier than i ever have. I am losing weight quickly and visibly. I have eaten food that i never ever dreamed i would. I have stuck rigidly to the plan with only one moment of weakness where i bought some pistachios but didn't actually eat them.

I had a strange night last night. My feet became really itchy which hasn't happened for a while but was driving me crazy. We went to bed and i just could not settle. I was just laying there and couldnt switch off. I had work things on my mind so ended up getting out of bed at 11:30 at night and then worked until about 03:30 this morning. I just knew i wouldn't settle unless i got up and did what i needed to. I then thought i would have a lay in in the morning but eventually got up at about 08:30. I expected to be tired today but i haven't. I woke up full of energy.

I carried on reading Dracula and am hooked already. I have always enjoyed reading but found it used to make me really tired. Not so much now so these changes are all having such a positive effect on me.

We are creeping up towards 3 weeks and i look forward to further weight loss and continuing this enjoyable (mostly) experience)

Liz -

Not much to report tonight, had a bad nights sleep having woken at 2am to find Mike missing - don't worry i soon found him working away in the office! I then slept on and off for the remainder of the night.

Nothing eventful today, another day on this training course so 3 shakes and a lovely bowl of courgettes with mushrooms, garlic, ginger and soy sauce for lunch.

I'm contemplating the gym tomorrow morning, need to kick start my weight loss again with some exercise as i've been pretty lazy this week. I'd like to get my body back in gear and shed those pounds, turn my fat into muscle.

I have my first brass band rehersal tonight since last March! Looking forward to it but wondering how much enegery this will take up coinsidering the low calorie intake this could be interesting - i will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Phase 2 Update

I have to say that sticking to phase 2 is still presenting a real challenge. Still not quite finding the right balance. Water consumption...
